Emily Hamby

Emily Hamby is the mother of 3 children, 2 of whom were affected by Kell alloimmunization, which can cause mild to fatal hemolytic disease of the fetus and newborn (HDFN). She was sensitized to Kell antibodies during her pregnancy with her first child, who inherited the Kell antigen from his father. It wasn’t until her son was 15 years old that his Kell+ status was discovered. Since then, Emily has been raising awareness and advocating on behalf of HDFN patients and their families. She has served on an HDFN/alloimmunization patient advisory board and participated in patient perspective studies. Emily has a background in customer service and enjoys writing and various types of music.
